It’s important to follow some general safety tips to safety to occupants, workers and the building.

• Make sure all residents and pets have left the area.
• Let the local fire department know about your intentions so nearby neighbors don’t call the fire department when they see “smoke” escaping outside from the thermal fog deodorization.
• Post notices indicating that odor remediation fogging is in progress, and indicate a time when occupants may return to the area.
• Technicians working with thermal foggers should be wearing respirators, eye protection and skin protection.
  

Before Fogging, You should:

• Cover or disable smoke detectors.
• Cover fish tanks and food containers.
• Close all exterior windows and doors.
• Open all cabinets, closets and drawers in the affected area.
• Drawers should be stair-stepped — bottom drawer opened furthest, next drawer opened slightly less and so on.
